Minnesota employers know that the Minnesota Human Rights Act already prohibits discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation, which includes  ” having or being perceived as having a self-image or identity not traditionally associated
with one’s biological maleness or femaleness.”   Minnesota is one of about 12 states to provide such protections, although a number of cities also do.
